How I Work
In Person and Remote
I offer both in-person sessions in central Cambridge, and online therapy.
How I can help
I use cognitive analytic therapy and other approaches to:
Help you make sense of your experiences and how they may link to feelings of distress.
Use everyday language to understand patterns of relationships and behaviour.
Recognise that the society we live in can influence our way of thinking and feeling.
Take a compassionate, friendly, non-judgemental approach.
Work with you to make permanent change for the better.
I use EMDR to:
Quickly reduce distress from traumatic memories
Help you feel safer so you get better sleep, stop feeling horrible when reminded of the memory, and improve feelings of guilt, blame and shame
I may be the right choice if…
You’ve had a particularly distressing or traumatic experience which has been bothering you
You have tried another therapy like CBT which didn’t quite get to the root of the problem.
You know what you want to change but feel frustrated because “I keep making the same mistakes” despite your best efforts.
You want to why these distressing feelings or self-defeating behaviour have arisen.
You'd be interested in understanding how this may link to your previous and current relationships, or how society’s expectations may have influenced the ways you’ve had to cope.
You want the space to think about these complicated factors, but you also want a focus on the small steps you need to take to make changes now.
You want to feel stronger in your relationships, and improve your life.
